Sonic Mass – A Journey Through Light and Sound
LUMINOUS ABSTRACT PRESENTS
Sonic Mass
Sonic Mass is an immersive audio-visual journey through light and sound set in a newly renovated historic church in Coatesville, PA. Expect to be immersed in ambient soundscapes and an all-encompassing visual experience. We will be entertained by WXPN’s Chuck Van Zyl, host of the ambient radio show, “Star’s End”, master purveyor of ethereal, dreamy soundscapes and sonic states of spacey bliss. Sean Youngman, Philadelphia’s own, master percussionist and soundbath extraordinaire, will be anchoring the event with his uniquely transcendent sounds, layering instruments including handpan, singing bowls, gongs, and more to settle us into a relaxed and open state. Hosted by Stage Trip Productions, Luminous Abstract, Circle D Productions and The Arches entertainment venue, you can anticipate a truly unique evening of immersive entertainment.

Built in 1870 and fashioned in the Swiss Gothic style, the former St. Cecilia’s Church was built with serpentine stone edifice containing narrow pointed arch apertures, a large, central rose window and two overlooking balconies. This venue has been recently renovated with a simple, white color palette which creates the most perfect blank slate for immersive projection mapping and unique shape to carry and amplify ambient sounds.
